Analysis of CO2 Emissions of the soybean culture inputs within the upstream and direct scopes in different macro-regions of the State of Mato Grosso-Brazil

摘要
Brazil is one of the largest soybean producers and exporters in the world. With the environmental impacts caused by anthropogenic emissions from agroindustrial production, as well as the commitment to international treaties and the need to control and estimate GHG emissions, the objective is to calculate emissions from the main sources of GHG in soybean cultivation in different macro-regions of Mato Grosso in two scopes, Upstream and Direct. For this purpose, the Life Cycle Assessment methodology was adopted. The results indicated that the macro-regions emissions vary between 0.415-0.591 kgCO(2)eq, and the Western macro-region of the state of Mato Grosso, due to the soil correction process, presented the lowest emission of kgCO(2)eq. The main GHG emitter is due to the use of lime in the direct phase, correction of soil pH.
