Towards a combinatorial description of the matrices corresponding to irreducible representations of the unitary and general linear groups

We present a combinatorial model for the matrices corresponding to polynomial representations of the unitary and general linear groups. Our model relies on the concept of eulerian bijections over directed graphs. Using this approach we obtain combinatorial proofs of the multiplication property for the totally symmetric and totally anti-symmetric representations.
