摘要：

This article offers an assessment of the Security Council of the United Nations System in terms of the structure and functioning established in the Charter of the Organization, from the perspective of democracy. To do this, with the application of historical-legal methods and legal-doctrinal analysis, historical and theoretical considerations were systematized on said Organ, and the theory of democracy was analyzed. The results obtained show the absence of democracy in articles 23, corresponding to the composition, and 46, in relation to the members of the Military Staff Committee that advises and assists, among others.
