摘要
The purpose of reverse engineering is to convert a large point cloud into a CAD model. In reverse engineering, extracting geometric parameters of quadric surfaces from measured data is an important problem. It helps to understand the designer's intent, and improves accuracy and efficiency of parts reconstruction. In this paper, an improved genetic algorithm with real valued genes and an adaptive mutation rate was used to extract geometric parameters of plane and quadric surface. Experimental results demonstrated the effectiveness, robustness and accuracy of our proposed approach.
