Exploring the ISSUE of IMPROVING the Ability of Young Foreign Language Teachers to Do Scientific Research: From the Perspective of Methodology

摘要
To further improve the overall quality of young foreign language teachers, the training of their basic research methods and skills should be strengthened. The nature and historical development of speculation and positivism were discussed from the perspectives of philosophical foundation and epistemology. A mixed method of speculation and positivism is proposed and illustrated in terms of thinking modes, the cycle of doing scientific research, diversity of research methods and the real situation in foreign language research. It is suggested that to increase the research level of foreign language discipline we should first cultivate researchers' awareness of science research, strengthen basic skills, vigorously carry out training on scientific research methods.
