摘要：
The genus Philoptila Meyrick (Lecithoceridae: Lepidoptera) is so far known by two species, viz., P. effrenata and P. melalychna. A new species, Philoptila cornunata, sp. nov., is now described from India. The new species is characterized by a very specialized cornutus in the aedeagus of the male genitalia.
