摘要
Dynamic calibration of the atmosphere is a technique where corrections to atmospheric density models are generated based upon indirect observations of the atmosphere, typically satellite orbital data. In this work, the density correction theory proposed by Nazarenko and Yurasov is independently vetted and validated. The corrections are generated for the NRLMSISE-00 atmospheric density model from November 30, 1999 through November 30, 2003 and are compared to published results of Nazarenko and Yurasov. A second set of corrections is generated over the four year interval from January 1, 1995 through June 1, 2000, which is a relatively quiet space weather period compared to the original study period. Density corrections were also generated with up to 477 space objects and comparisons of the various solutions allowing us to draw the conclusion that the b(1) coefficient is readily observable and independent of the number and kind of space objects used while the b(2) coefficient is not.
