Hydraulic modeling for the Padma River Bridge

摘要
A new 6.2 km long bridge crossing, designed for a discharge of 148,000m(3)/s, has been proposed over the Padma River in Bangladesh. Design scoured depths are approximately 62 m at the river training works and about 77 m at the bridge piers. These design values were estimated based on a hybrid approach that combined several types of hydraulic models, such as hydrodynamic numerical models, morphodynamic numerical models and movable-bed physical models.
