The effects of annealing temperature on the microstructure and properties of cold-rolled 5083 aluminum alloy

摘要
The effects of annealing temperature on the strength and corrosin properties of cold-rolled 5083 aluminum alloy (epsilon=60%) were investigated. The results show that the tensile strength of the alloy decreases with rising annealing temperature. The alloy shows ductile cracking in dry air and brittle cracking in 3.5% NaCl aqueous solution. The alloy reserves the most positive electrical potential at 200 degrees C, and low SCC susceptibility at 200,250 degrees C when annealed, but reserves relative high SCC susceptibility at 100, 150,300 and 350 degrees C, which can be attributed to the difference shape and distribution of beta-phase annealed at different temperature.
