Temperature dependence measurement of the magnetic penetration depth of a YBa2Cu3O7 thin film

Picosecond optoelectronic sampling techniques have been used to determine the temperature dependence of the magnetic penetration depth of a YBa2Cu3O7(YBCO) thin film. Electrical pulses, generated using photoconductive switches driven by a mode-locked Nd:YAG pumped dye laser, were propagated on superconducting stripline delay lines which were 64 mm in length, The measured data best fit a temperature-squared dependence of the penetration depth with lambda(0) = 201 nm. Pulse dispersion increased in the delay line with increasing temperature.
