摘要
Bearing in mind the opening of EU borders, as well as the possibility of taking a job in Poland, the authors of this paper have decided to introduce the principles of drawing principal maps plus drawing from field surveying in Poland. All the information has been taken from the book titled 'Selected issues concerning map drawing' by the authors of this paper. The book brings up the subject of drawing classical and numerical maps with emphasis put on principal maps. It combines the disciplines of computer science and geodesy (geoinformatics). It describes the principles of field sketches and topographical keys. It includes appendices describing popular software to create principal map by computer, as well as a dictionary of practical terms especially useful for fresh geodetic graduate. In the 2007 edition, the subject of industrial safety had been tackled additionally and the notions concerning symbolism and colours had been developed. It presents the classification and the description of the selected cartographic mapping used in Poland. One may find the index of acronyms of both leading versions of K-I instruction Principal map (1980 and 1998). A significant part of the book was devoted to a numerical map. Along with some information on a vector map, graphical representation of site details had been classified and described in detail. The book presents the characterization of National Land Information System, plus expansion of the notion of database. The supplement, that takes on the form of the dictionary with terms on drawing a principal map and surveying documents to boot, shall be very useful and needful especially for candidates for geodesists. The dictionary consists of more than one hundred entries with detailed information on e.g. individual functions of buildings with examples, as well as definitions of objects such as: weir plant, settlement, arcade, hamlet, forest district, spring and many more. The book also includes appendices on AutoCAD, C-Geo and MikroMap.
