摘要
The molecular orbital method was used to identify Ni-free shape memory alloys in the Ti-Nb-Zr system. The alloys were manufactured via the arc melting technique, in Ar atmosphere and subsequently solution annealed with quenching in water. The corresponding microstructure was analyzed by X-ray diffraction and scanning electron microscopy to show the formation of martensite. A chart detailing the sequence of transformation was drawn based on calorimetric measurements and structural analysis.
