China is a developing country with large population, per capita resources relatively scarce and fragile ecological environment. The economic development must take the road of sustainable development in the future. Currently, real estate industry development has not yet out of the development model which is featured by high resource consumption, high environmental impact and low production efficiency. Real estate industry shows a status of no sustainable development. How to deal with the conflict between resources shortage and real estate development becomes a most important issue. In order to maintain sustainable development for real estate industry, some countries have proposed the concept of green building in recent years. Green building can be achieved as a resource, economic and ecological sustainable development of real estate innovation model has been general concern. Government has an obligation to take the appropriate institutional arrangements and institutional supply to promote green building development. Green building is the inevitable direction for Chinese real estate industry development.
