The durability problem of concrete structure caused by corrosion of reinforcing bar has received more and more concern, and Cl- is the main factor to induce corrosion. Permeability of Cl- in sialite concrete and cement concrete is determined by the rapid chloride permeability test method as designated in ASTMC1202. The result shows that sialite concrete is more resistant to Cl- penetration. The mechanism lies in that sialite concrete has better pore structure than cement concrete and that sialite is more capable of solidifying Cl- than cement.
