Ballistic plasma generator with a vortex chamber for pumping solid-state lasers

摘要
An alternative, nonelectric method of preparing a dense radiating plasma is investigated, and the possibility is studied of using this method for pumping solid-state lasers. The plasma is generated by heating a working gas in a two-stage ballistic plasma generator. A novel device, namely, a vortex chamber, is suggested for transmitting energy in the plasma generator-laser system.
