摘要：
Cervical ultrasonography can be used to differentiate thyroid carcinoma from other space-occupying masses and to characterize the local invasiveness of malignant thyroid neoplasms. Thyroid ultrasonography may also prove useful in differentiating normal from adenomatous thyroid glands in hyperthyroid cats. High-resolution ultrasonography is also valuable to detect parathyroid enlargement from hyperplasia or neoplasia. Primary and secondary hyperparathyroidism can also sometimes be differentiated by the size and number of enlarged parathyroids identified.
