摘要
Adopting enabling technologies in developing countries is a challenge for enterprises due to the lack of awareness levels. This study aims to facilitate the retail sector of developing countries like Pakistan by providing them with the framework for Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) implementation, which they can implement in their context with slight modifications. This paper uses an exploratory research design with multiple case study methods within the qualitative research domain. The proposed framework covers technical and non-technical aspects and dimensions and would help adopt and implement RFID in developing countries. The current study attempts to eliminate the gaps in the previous frameworks through the inputs taken from the semi structured interviews from the retail sector of Pakistan. Interviewees were selected based on purposive sampling. The study would is for the retail sector of developing countries to adopt and implement RFID in their supply chains through the application customized framework according to the nature of the organization. This framework will help the managers by improving the overall tracking and tracing of the products. This research will add value to the existing literature as significantly less research has been performed in the retail sector of developing countries related to RFID implementation.
