摘要
The use of synthetically generated solar radiation and wind speed data is the subject of this paper. Synthetic weather data can be used for two main purposes: solar and wind energy estimation and system performance estimation. The solar radiation data are generated based on the generalised clearness index curves while the wind speed data are generated based on the Weibull distribution model. Two different synthetic weather data sets are generated, namely a 3-day month and a 4-day month. In the 3-day month each month is represented by 3 days and in the 4-day month by 4 days. A further option chooses only one day out of 3 and 4 days for the solar radiation and wind speed data and places them in different combinations. Thus each month is represented by a single day of synthetic data (1-day month) both for solar radiation and wind speed. Then, a correlation is developed between the system performances computed using the I-day month synthetic data and those computed using the measured data.
