摘要：
The search for the most distant galaxies is bursting with new discoveries and theoretical excitement. The topic is not only plainly interesting in itself, it also has profound implications for the study of cosmic reionization, the intergalactic medium, and cosmic enrichment. Such observations also provide a stringent benchmark for cosmological models. The following is a very concise attempt to review the present status of the field and its challenges from a theoretical perspective.
