The objective is aimed at arguing the need for the formation of culture in industrial property in order to develop the sports industry in Cuba. This research has as its main antecedents: Espinal et al (2017), Espinal (2018), author who analyzed the intellectual property link with the sports industry; Their contributions are used to support value judgments that guide the design of public policies in Cuba, for the improvement of the sports industry based on the formation of the industrial property culture of its professionals. An exploratory, descriptive and non-experimental investigation was carried out; oriented to the search for new knowledge and research fields; the categories industrial property, sports industry and sports were correlated in a particular context; Methods such as: analysis-synthesis, deduction, documentary review, observation was used. Mental reasoning and logical reasoning were used to construct a set of explanations related to said problem; Furthermore, bibliometric indicators were used such as: countries, applicants, inventors, date of publication contained in the patentscope database, using patentometry as a technique aimed at verifying the current state of the technological sectors studied. The results showed that there are contents in industrial property that can support the development of research projects that promote the sports industry. The conclusions indicate that the formation of culture in industrial property enhances the development of the sports industry and sports in Cuba.
