Composite cross sections with high performance fiber reinforced concrete and timber

摘要
High performance steel fiber reinforced concrete and vertically laminated wood were combined to create a composite deck. Composite action of wood and concrete was facilitated through high shear strength concrete poured into the circular openings in the wood deck. Two types of shear specimens were used to evaluate the feasibility of the wood-concrete connection. Experiments showed that the composite slabs can be designed to achieve desired failure in concrete shear. The proposed system is efficient and offers several advantages as compared to traditional concrete-wood systems.
