摘要
Field investigation was carried out to study the continuous effect of off-season land management practices on soil microbial population and nitrogen status of the soil during April, 2005 to December, 2005 at Annamalai University, Annamalainagar, Tamil Nadu. The results revealed that all the off-season land management practices exerted significant influence on microbial population and nitrogen status of the soil. Off-season soil solarization with white transparent polyethylene sheet of 0.05 mm thickness for 40 days was recorded reduction in microbial population especially (fungi) and the highest available nitrogen.
