摘要
The paper is dedicated to self-education issues. Modern technologies spread self-education opportunities in many ways. Some of them are not obvious. For instance, such Internet services as VKontakte provides opportunities for including group interactions and discussions into self-education in Russia. Informational technologies improve self-education all over the world. In Russia, there is plenty of different types resources that provides instant access to educational information and abilities for direct communications between lecturers and students. As a result, self-education becomes easily, more affordable and accessible. However, there are still several key issues. The first of them is educational content quality estimation which becomes difficult due to plenty of educational resources. The second issue is shift from information studying to consumption.
