摘要
This paper presents results of STAAPH (autonomous transport system helping disabled persons) project, the goal is to develop a multi-sensor navigation system to equip conventional electrically-powered wheelchairs. It provides an efficient and relevant assistance in wheelchair guidance for the users. An experimental research program is currently started up in order to test the different tasks (obstacle avoidance, doorstep crossing, wall following) in different environmental situations with static and dynamic obstacles, to optimize the complete navigation system and to verify that the proposed solutions are well-suited to transport the majority of disabled persons.
