摘要
The huge amounts of WEEE contain large quantities of plastics, especially thermoplastic resins. DIRECTIVE 2002/96/EC on waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE) defines strict recycling quotas. But the quotas will only be fulfilled by an additional recycling circle: That one for plastics. The plastic waste fraction of WEEE consists mainly high additivated polystyrene based thermoplastics from the housings. For these mixed and contaminated plastics the Fraunhofer-Institute and CreaCycle GmbH have developed the CreaSolv (R) Process. With this recycling process high-quality recycled polymers can be achieved. Here we present, within an industrial recycling network, the application of the CreaSolv (R) Process to ABS and high-impact Polystyrene.
