A low-power low-cost digital readout circuit for dual-band infrared sensor array

摘要
A digital readout circuit is proposed and analyzed for the infrared (IR) sensor array in this paper. By introducing a novel and simple realization of sigma-delta A/D converter (Sigma Delta ADC), the hardware and power consumption were reduced significantly. A chip of 128x2 IR sensor array readout integrated circuit (ROIC) has been designed by using 0.35 um CMOS process. Simulation results show that the total power consumption is only 4mW when the frame rate is 100Hz and the resolution is 10-bit.
