A few thoughts on construction of web-based lifelong learning

摘要
The accelerated development of human society triggers off the needs by the society as well as the individuals for lifelong learning. The Web, a carrier of knowledge storage, dissemination and communication, will play an important role in this movement of lifelong learning. However, neither the learning theories and the resource storage mechanisms nor the learning communication approaches currently available on the Web are competent to guarantee the outcome of lifelong learning from the learning standpoint. Viewing this issue from the features of learning, the author believes, in this paper, because of the complexity of web-based learning, that lifelong learning will become an enforceable learning plan only if the physical infrastructures needed for online learning are constructed under the guidance of the constructivist learning theory.
