An atomic fountain guided by a far-off resonance laser beam

摘要
We demonstrate an atomic fountain guided by a far-off resonance laser beam. We show that atoms can be launched within the guide without heating, and guided through a small aperture to a UHV chamber. The extension to continuous operation is discussed.
