摘要
Subjective well-being is constituted by an affective and a cognitive component. The affective component is measured through the presence of positive and negative emotions; the Positive and Negative Affect Schedule (panas) is the most used measure for that component. This research presents evidence on the validity and reliability of the panas in the Ecuadorian adult population. A total of 1,058 adults were surveyed. Scales of depressive symptoms and life satisfaction were also applied. A confirmatory factor analysis showed the panas entails a 2-factor composition, factors having high internal consistency and correlation with depressive symptoms and life satisfaction according to hypotheses. In conclusion, the panas is an appropriate scale to measure positive and negative affect in the Ecuadorian population.
