Thermal analysis of biodegradable material: From modulated temperature DSC to fast scan DSC

摘要
Thermal analysis of modified wheat gluten materials offers insights into the interaction between wheat gluten and additives. Unlike modulated temperature DSC, HyperDSC allows the determination of thermal properties in seconds with unmatched sensitivity and efficiency. The short analysis time prevents the material from changing while being heated and allows characterization of the "as received" product. Thermal analysis provides the necessary tools to characterize the moisture content, glass transition, and degradation temperature of biodegradable materials. Organic elemental analysis complements the thermal analysis data and helps in the study of the formulation.
