摘要
The paper describes role of social networking structures as a knowledge management tool in different organizational environments. Activities of networks within an organization are considered as a knowledge management mechanism, which enables creation and sharing of knowledge. Therefore, networks could shape knowledge of an organization and create added value. Each network is formed around an overriding mission, which also determines the organizational and operating methods of the network, requirements for participants and the criteria for corresponding software to support its work. The creation of knowledge networks may create the conceptual structure for rethinking knowledge management models. The architecture of knowledge networks includes a set of tools used within social relations. These tools include both organizational tools and information and communications tools, which are used to provide various capabilities and improve knowledge processes and the process of building knowledge networks. The paper includes Gartner's overview of social software technologies.
