PANDEMIC AND SCHOOL ESCAPE: THE CHALLENGES FOR CEARA PUBLIC HIGH SCHOOL

摘要
The current scenario of the Covid-19 pandemic presents several national and state challenges, among them an educational one. The research has as a general objective to understand the challenges and strategies to face school dropout in public high schools in the government of Ceara during a pandemic period; and specifically, to analyze the school dropout rate in this period, identify the difficulties adopted by schools to face this dropout in the pandemic, and research the political plans that focused on education in Ceara in the face of the outbreak. We used documentary and conceptual research as a method for this. Among the initial results, we highlight the influence of state plans as well as changes in teaching methodology using ICTs (information and communication technology), which made possible the increase in school dropouts. Both will serve as a basis for possible academic consultations and/or improvements in strategies of social intervention, together with the reduction of school dropout.
