摘要
Evolutionary programming has emerged as powerful optimization tool for non-linear optimization problems. An improved fast evolutionary algorithm is proposed to solve security constrained economic load dispatch with valve point loading. The operation of power system demands a high degree of security in order to keep the system operating satisfactorily when subjected to disturbances, while at the same time it is required to take economic aspects into account. The problem is formulated as a constrained optimization problem in a way that ensures a secure and economic operation of power system. An improved fast evolutionary program (IFEP) is used to solve the formulated optimization problem. The efficiency and performance of the algorithm is investigated on a security constrained economic load dispatch problem having non-convex cost functions.
