摘要
The Proton Engineering Frontier Project (PEEP) is using a capacitive button pickup to measure the transverse beam position of the 20-MeV proton linear accelerator beam. The pickup is installed at the exit of the 4(th) DTL(drift tube linac). We performed a position sensitivity calibration and an offset calibration to convert the output voltage signal into the beam's position by using a wire method in the test stand we fabricated. Based on the sensitivity and offset calibrations, we derived the beam's position from the pickup output signals. In this paper, we will discuss the calibration procedure, the results, and the monitoring of the position of the 20-MeV proton beam from a linear accelerator.
