摘要
Carbon nanotubes (CNTs) can adsorb organic compound, maybe play an important role in dealing with waste water. The adsorption of methylene blue on CNTs was studied through theory analysis and experiment. The adsorption equilibrium concentration and temperature of methylene blue,solution on CNTs were experimented, The adsorption, equilibrium constant and adsorption free energy were calculated. The adsorption mechanism of methylene blue on CNTs was discussed. The results show that adsorption amount of methylene blue on CNTs increases with the increasing of temperature. The adsorption of methylene blue on CNTs is endothermic reaction. It contains monolayer and multilayer adsorption. The monolayer and multilayer adsorption equilibrium constants are 1212.95629 L/g and 3.88943 L/g, respectively. the monolayer and multilayer adsorption free energies are -31.35 kJ/mol and -17.36 kJ/mol, respectively. The monolayer adsorption contains physical adsorption and chemical adsorption. The multilayer adsorption is physical adsorption only. Thus CNTs may adsorb methylene blue intensively.
