摘要
New phenomena, properties, and functions contributing to advanced sciences can be discovered, examined, and developed in nanospaces. Sophisticated design of molecular hosts and their assemblies can provide excellent nanospaces with predictable properties for accommodation of functional molecules, where supramolecular chemistry has been playing a central role. In this review, we briefly summarize recent developments in supramolecular approaches to nanospace fabrication for advanced sciences. Typical and/or recent examples including molecular capsules, artificial enzymes, molecular machines, dendrimers, DNA architectures, metal organic frameworks, coordination polymers, hydrogen-bonding networks, transcribed structures, mesoporous materials, bilayer vesicles, layer-by-layer assemblies, Langmuir-Blodgett films, and self-assembled monolayers are described. The presented examples demonstrate the striking utility of supramolecular chemistry as a versatile tool for advanced sciences in nanospace.
