Simulation of WDM-PON and Radio Over Fiber with Single Mach Zehnder Modulator

摘要
In this paper theoretical model of multi-band modulation in WDM PON system is proposed. Multi-band modulation helps to reduce the infrastructure cost without much effect on base-band signal being transmitted. Theoretical explanation of multi-band modulation is investigated. A simple model is used to investigate further impact of IF signal, which is digitally modulated in different formats, used in the multi-band modulation technique. The proposed system can satisfy the requirements of fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) by realizing that a transmission of 25KM long distance is possible. The impact has been studied by using eye-diagram obtained and the theoretical explanations. The proposed work shows that the baseband signal is not much affected by the IF digitally modulated signal.
