Reaserch Groups: spaces for the internationalization of higher education

This study aims to identify and outline the profile of research groups in relation to the origin, identity and configuration of areas of knowledge at the Federal University of Mato Grosso (UFMT). Methodologically, it consisted of a case study, based on bibliographic research with documentary analysis. The procedure for data analysis included the quali/quantitative approach. The scientific relevance of this reflection is to provide new practices for the consolidation of groups and the creation of ways to expand scientific production, especially in the proposal of research groups as spaces for the internationalization of higher education. Finally, the benefit that this investigation brings to the academic community is to become the guiding principle for future discussions on the themes of the groups and their consequences for research networks with a view to national and international cooperation and/or collaboration.
