摘要
This study is based on data collected from faculty of a comprehensive university located in the rural Southwest regarding their view of collective bargaining in institutions of higher learning. Five major issues identified in literature as significant determinants of faculty perceptions: personnel, compensation, governance, union image, and work environment are examined. The result confirms the importance of personnel, governance and compensation as significant determinants. Interestingly this study points to work environment, faculty satisfaction, and relationship with superiors as even more important in coloring faculty attitude toward collective bargaining.
