摘要
This essay explores the process of 're-civilising' the Germans after the barbaric crimes of the Nazi dictatorship. After exploring the linguistic resonances of the concept of 'civility', it takes a closer look at the exemplary processes of cultural demilitarisation, recovery of politeness, and sensitisation for human rights. The article concludes with some recommendations for further research.
