摘要
Parkinson's disease (PD) progressively shows alterations in speech and swallowing that increase in frequency and intensity as the disease evolves. This article is a review of the clinical characteristics of these disorders and of the treatment currently available according to the evidence and grade of recommendation. The LSVT method (Lee Silverman Voice Treatment) with a grade of recommendation B is the only treatment with a relevant short term effectiveness that is maintained for 24 months. It improves intelligibility level of speech in idiopathic PD and also indirectly affects improvement of the organs and muscles involved in swallowing.
