Application of green supply chain management in Chinese construction industry

It is well known that construction industry has serious impacts on the environment. In fact, the construction enterprise pay little attention on the problem in China. The concept of supply chain management (SCM) is now commonly applied in business for the mutual benefit of members of supply chain. Integrated SCM would bring construction enterprise more profit and establish deep relationship between suppliers& purchaser though reducing exchange cost. At the same time, SCM would green the construction supply chain by integrating the behavior of members and promote the enterprise to protect our environment. The paper emphasize two major elements below: environmental (green) purchasing and government policy based on the operation in other developed countries. At the end of this paper, some suggestion to green Chinese construction supply chain is offered.
