摘要
A 3D Finite Element Model (FEM) is built to perform the thermal-mechanical analysis of the Friction Stir Welding (FSW) of dissimilar materials. The weld nugget zone is modeled using Functionally Graded Material (FGM) concept. The model is used to study thermal strains and thermal stresses analysis in dissimilar materials joints. The heat generated between the welding tool and the specimens' surfaces is modeled as a moving heat source. Modeling and simulation of this process are carried out by using the FEM package ABAQUS (R). User defined subroutine DFLUX is used to model the moving heat source load. FGM properties estimation for the computational analysis are also introduced in this paper.
