摘要：

Between November 17-20, 2010, an international workshop was organized by the Transregio TR52 Wurzburg/Mainz/Berlin at the Virchow Center of University Wurzburg. Introduced by the Virchow Medal Lecture, given by Meinrad Busslinger, more than 25 presentations were delivered by renowned guest scientists and approximately the same number of short lectures by members of the Transregio on Gene Expression in Cells of the Immune System. This report tries to reflect the spirit of the meeting and its scientific highlights.
