摘要
Traffic measurement and monitor is one of the major topics in the areas of network management. Various tools for traffic measuring and visualization were proposed. As a network grows in size and complexity, its infrastructure becomes heterogeneous. As Network Elements (NEs), i.e. routers and switches are built on different technologies, have different functionalities and configuration interfaces, there are different interaction protocols for traffic measurement. In this paper, we proposed a framework for a distributed traffic monitor for heterogeneous NEs through a common logical interface, which hides the underlying NE-specific differences in a scalable, extensible, and reliable way. A CORBA-based implementation of the framework is presented, and experimental results are discussed.
