Microstructure and Mechanical Properties of the Mg-Al-Zn-Ca Alloys by Spray Forming

摘要
The microstructure of the Mg-Al-Zn-Ca alloy was observed by on OM and SEM, the microalloy phase morphology and the electron diffraction patterns were observed by TEM, and the tensile strength and elongation of the alloy were also tested. Results show that the microstructure of the as-extruded Mg alloy is not very dense due to the micropores. However, the microstructure becomes dense and the grains are fine, reaching 5 mu m, after extrusion of the alloy. The dispersed secondary phase is determined as (Al, Nd)(2)Ca. The tensile strength and elongation of the as-extruded Mg alloy are 430 MPa and 5.5%, respectively..
