摘要：
A five-year Engineering and Society degree program at McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada, makes the "bridge" between technology and society both broader and longer. This program allowed students to combine the technical portion of any of the nine disciplines in engineering offered at McMaster with an extra year of courses, thus enabling them to earn a Bachelor of Engineering and Society degree. Spreading the material over the upper four years allows for some depth of insight to develop.
