ANTHROPOLOGY OF THE INDIGENOUS AND AFRO MEDIA IN LATIN AMERICA: A PRESENTATION

The starting point is the communication studies, in particular, their analysis of the relations between communication, technology and society, where the identity of the "indigenous media" is questioned. Then, based on the comparative analysis of ethnographic studies on indigenous and Afro communication in Latin America, a set of concepts is presented that, on the one hand, allow us to analyze the plurality and heterogeneity that clearly identify these "indigenous and Afro media". On the other hand, they represent a contribution to current media anthropology studies.
