Religiously mixed regions, countries, provinces, cities, neighborhoods, and even families are increasingly common in our modern, globalized world. Whether the city is Aden in Yemen, Urumchi in China, Cape Town in South Africa, or Tulsa in the United States, believers of various faiths along with those of no faith live side by side. Finding a way to live with our differences is essential to fostering the authentic and natural human search for, worship of, and/or reflection about the Transcendent. Failing to mediate these deep differences is fodder for conflict.
