摘要
Health insurance has been realized as instrument for the health economy ,if the people of country are the healthy, they can significantly in the economic development of the Healthy citizen . Health insurance sector has been the faster growing segment in the insurance industry. Health Insurance sector in India has gained huge escalations since liberalization due to introduction of private health care financers, increase in health consciousness among all sections of the society. Health insurance in India is an emerging insurance sector after life and automobile insurance sector. Today there is a need for injection of substantial resources in the health sector to ensure affordability of medical care to all. Health insurance schemes whether formal or informal, it may be social or private or it may be government policy due to spiraling of health costs. Rise in risk in the pandemic period, higher hospitalization cost, expensive health care, digitization and increase in awareness level are some important drivers for the growth of health insurance market in India. The financial protection is to individuals with catastrophic health events. Health insurance is indeed in requirement for spreading awareness about health insurance is similar to taking part in a relay race. Each team member is of equal importance here. The government, healthcare professionals, health insurance companies, and eventually the population can form the pillars of spreading awareness to the deepest parts of the country. Health insurance is considered as one of the financial mechanism to overcome some of the problems of our system. The present paper is an attempt to outline the current picture of health insurance sector in India. All law and existing regulatory provisions inside the country has a insight into their efficacy and achievements, which are undertaking of risks in the critical juncture of livelihood, as the life is uncertain with the natural and artificial disasters, where health care is financed through general tax revenue
